Continuing My Learning Beyond This Course

Although this course is coming to an end, I feel like my learning is just beginning. One of the most meaningful experiences this semester was developing my personal learning network and exploring online communities that share ideas, resources, and practical solutions. Seeing how educators and instructional designers collaborate reminded me that professional growth doesn't only happen through formal classes—it also happens through conversations, shared experiences, and continuous exploration.

Over the past twelve weeks, I've become more intentional about the tools I use and the way I engage with them. Instead of simply browsing content, I now think about how platforms can support learning, encourage participation, and improve performance. I also discovered several resources that I plan to continue using as I move through my graduate program and into the instructional design field.

Looking ahead, I want to continue growing my personal learning network by staying connected with educators and instructional designers, following new ideas, and sharing resources that may help others. Technology will continue to evolve, but this course has given me the confidence to adapt, keep learning, and thoughtfully use Web 2.0 tools to create engaging learning experiences. I'm excited to see where these experiences take me next.

  My Growing Personal Learning Network This week introduced the concept of Personal Learning Networks, or PLNs. While I had heard the term before, I realized that I have been building a PLN for years without intentionally thinking about it. My PLN includes colleagues at work, classmates in my graduate program, educational technology professionals, social media accounts I follow, and online groups where educators share ideas and resources. Each of these connections contributes something different to my learning and professional growth. One aspect of a PLN that I appreciate is that learning is not limited to a classroom or professional development session.   From Group Chat to Community: The Role of Participation This week, we explored several tools that can bring people together for communication, collaboration, knowledge sharing, and performance support. Some of the tools were familiar to me, while others offered new ways to think about how online communities can be organized. GroupMe stood out because it is a platform I have used frequently in different settings. GroupMe makes it easy for members to communicate quickly, share updates, ask questions, send reminders, and stay connected outside of scheduled meetings.
